Jointly organised by ECMI ITE Asia Sdn Bhd and Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM), Coat & Corrosion Asia (CCA2016) was launched on 28th May 2015 at Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The official launch of CCA2016 was graced with the presence of Mr Mark Temple-Smith, Regional Director of Asia from ITE Group Plc, En Md. Azmi Md. Noor, Deputy President of IMM, Mr CP Saw, Managing Director of ECMI ITE Asia Sdn Bhd, Associate Professor Dr. Melissa Chan, Organizing Chairperson of IMTCE2016, CCA’s supporting partners, exhibitors, valuable guests and media.

With theme “What to do with Corrosion?” the VIPs unveiled a brand new business & educational platform for the industry to source for solutions against corrosion damages and to enhance the standard of coating & corrosion control within ASEAN region. The launch event provides a thorough overview of the industry and some ideas to the potential exhibitors and members of the industry who were present, on how CCA2016 comes into play in various industries.

Attending guests managed to grab the networking opportunities to network with the exhibitors, industry experts and representatives from government and institutions, such as IMM. The guests and exhibitors had the chance to interact during the networking session. Exhibitors including Bruker (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, HSS Heat Shield Solution, Norimax Sdn Bhd, Total Schmidt Sdn Bhd and UE ZInga Malaysia Sdn Bhd introduced and displayed their latest products at the launch event. The exhibitors also shared their knowledge and thoughts about the current market & technologies with the attending valuable guests.

As CCA2016 is the first ever trade exhibition on both coating & corrosion control in Malaysia, the media was excited to explore in-depth information about this upcoming exhibition. During media session with the VIPs, the media actively ask questions about the industry and the exhibition.

“We are looking forward to having CCA2016 set the bar for solutions in coating and corrosion control technologies not only in Malaysia, but at a regional level as well,” said Mr Mark Temple-Smith, Regional Director for Asia at ITE Group Plc, “Malaysia’s economy has grown from strength to strength, and the expansion of related industries such as oil & gas, heavy industry, marine, construction, as well as others have made CCA2016 an essential tool for these industries to further develop their potential and growth.”

An agreement was signed between Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM) and ECMI ITE Asia Sdn Bhd, for Coat & Corrosion Asia 2016, with objective to develop the paint, coatings, and corrosion control industry in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

This collaboration combines the International Materials Technology Conference and Exhibition (IMTCE) and the Coat & Corrosion Asia (CCA) Exhibition, providing an extensive platform for the players from coating, painting, corrosion control and other supporting industries to exchange information and to source for new business networks. 

Coat & Corrosion Asia 2016 is a biennial exhibition that will be showcasing the latest coating and corrosion technologies for industrial needs, brought by exhibitors from various countries. The 3-day exhibition will gather buyers and sellers from the industry to network and to build business connections.

IMTCE is a signature events of IMM and there was a record of more than 400 participants for the past edition, where more than 50% of the participants came from around 40 countries. In the upcoming edition, the conference will focus on Design, Research and Inventions in relation to the performance of challenging materials, facilities & assets, trials & tribulations encountered, and research & inventions for the future. 120 golfers gathered at Sungai Long Golf and Country Club in Kajang for the exciting IMM Golf Shield, organized by Institute Materials, Malaysia with the support of various corporates and multinationals. The IMM Golf Shield was held on 11th October 2014.
